Keyhole Surgery Awareness Day

September 12, 2020

Keeping patients aware and informed is the first step toward receiving the right care patients’ deserve. SLS always support therapy awareness to empower patients with right knowledge to start a conversation with their healthcare providers.

SLS joins with Medtronic to commemorate September 12 as the Keyhole Surgery Awareness Day. Keyhole surgery, also known as Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), is when the surgeon makes small incisions like a keyhole and September 12, 1985 was the day that Professor Dr Med Erich Mühe of Germany performed the first keyhole surgery to remove a gallbladder.
