Dr. Michael Kavic is Professor Emeritus of Surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University. A graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Kavic completed a surgical residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Kavic is a founding member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) and Editor-in-Chief of JSLS, the peer-review journal of the SLS. More recently, SLS honored Dr. Kavic by naming the SLS Best Resident Paper Award the “Michael S. Kavic Best Resident Paper.”
